Trail workday: Twentymile Loop Trail

As mentioned in previous posts, Danny Bernstein from the Carolina Mountain Club has organized a series of trail workdays in the Great Smoky Mountains this summer and fall. The workdays are in conjunction with the Trails Forever program.

The final workday is scheduled for next Saturday, October 16th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers will be working on the Twentymile Loop Trail out of the Twentymile Ranger Station in the southwestern area of the Park. Work will include cleaning drains, pruning vegetation, and digging out sloughed off bank to redefine the trail head.

Trail workday: Pine Oak Nature Trail

As mentioned in previous postings, Danny Bernstein from the Carolina Mountain Club has organized a series of trail workdays in the Great Smoky Mountains this summer. The workdays are in conjunction with the Trails Forever program.

The next workday will be next Saturday, September 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers will be working on the Pine Oak Nature Trail located in the Cades Cove Campground. Work will include improvements to the trail head and drainage on the one-mile trail.

Trail workday in Cades Cove

Danny Bernstein from the Carolina Mountain Club has organized a series of trail workdays in the Great Smoky Mountains this summer. The workdays are in conjunction with the Trails Forever program.

The next workday will be next Saturday, August 21th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers will be working on a horse and hiker trail out of Cades Cove. Work will include improvements to the trail head and the drainage structures on the trail.
